Jay Correia
Jay is a textile designer, material innovator, and recognized leader in the Contract and Hospitality fabric industries. He operates at the intersection of design and industrial science and has authored or participated in the development of numerous breakthroughs in textile performance. Jay has working relationships with many organizations that specialize in textile technology. He's played key roles as both Design leader and Entrepreneur for a career that began in the mills of Fall River, and has earned the claim to an enormous portfolio of Jacquard, Dobby, and Composite textiles, placed with elite design houses in New York City and throughout the United States. He is a Co-owner of North Coast Design Studio, BEAM's parent, and is passionate about improving people's lives through design.
Chris Correia
Chris is an application developer and computer scientist. She's an expert in the discipline of user interface, and authority on user experience. She develops insights for retail shopper expectations, and shapes the objectives of product development based on end-use effectiveness, practical economics, and value. She is Co-owner of North Coast Design Studio, BEAM's parent, and she runs the business of the company, manages retail sales, and casts the tie-breaker. Notably, Chris coined the name, and with it, the mandate to always accomplish good.
Mark James Bernardo
Mark is a creative and technical originator, textile designer, and collaborator, specializing in the development of Jacquard fabric and textile product for commercial and residential furnishings. Known for his distinctive brand of beautiful, functional fabrics, Mark’s designs blend art with engineering, and seek to deconstruct accepted practice and form.
Design begins within each of us, and is fueled by the need for functional objects and spaces, and the desire for principled living.
